One of the authors of Canada’s first national assessment of climate change, Quentin Chiotti, from Pollution Probe’s believes fighting climate change “calls for an effort equal to dealing with global world war” but says that current efforts fall far short.
Chiotti, one of the authors of a report due to be released by the Canadian government in late March, says: “The tough decisions that will affect all of our lives still need to be made. The tipping point will come within 15 years. The need will become evident then, so we should start now.”
Speaking at a scientific conference, Chiotti said we face more heat waves, more flooding rains, more intense hurricanes and more droughts as global warming worsens.
In highly ‘scientific’ terms, Chiotti said, “We’re in deep doo-doo.”
